Bridge Graffiti

seen on a bridge along aurora boulevard...
it's not actually upside down; had a hard time holding the camera (turning it upside down was the only way i could take the shot and we were moving) and i wanted to take that shot...so. :D

Why

I like jewels, but I don't own lots of it. Well, yes, the main reason is because they are kind of expensive and I don't have the money to spare. I was just looking at a site which features blue diamonds, and the samples really made me go "WOW!". Not only with the designs, but also with the prices. lol. I would love to own some, but somehow whenever I get some money to spare I almost always spend it on the camera. I wonder why... ;)

Shot taken last weekend (27 feb 2010)...one of my SIL's angel collection.
As usual, couldn't help but edit my shot. Love the grungy/retro/aged look. lol
Used some photoshop actions, and an overlay. Played around with the sharpness a bit...

Not really satisfied with the result, but it has to do, for now. My two-year old is getting into one of his crying fits ...lol.

Concerns

Nobody's getting any younger, so it's just normal for us to be concerned about our future; not only our future but the future of our family. I know I'm concerned. That's why I took a life insurance a few years back (and have successfully finished paying it). It wasn't much, but at least it was something. Now I'm on the look out again for one of those whole life insurance offers that are either online or not. I want my sons' futures to be secure and an insurance could help (even if not much, but at least it's a start).

Now off I go (online, for now) to do some searching and researching! :)

Food Friday

That's pancit bihon (a type of noodle) guisado (my version, lol) which we had for lunch. What's different about this noodle (aside from it's greenish tinge) is that it is fortified with malunggay (Moringa oleifera). I was intrigued, so I bought a pack and left it in storage promptly for almost two weeks. LOL.

I only remembered I had it while I was rummaging around, looking for something to cook. That's right, we are now low on stocks. So I mixed it with what was available inside the freezer: ground pork and peas (we also have boneless bangus belly but I don't think it will go well with the noodles...or will it?). I also found some potatoes lying around, so added that too. Plus soy sauce, salt, fish sauce (yes, a must!), ground pepper, garlic, onion, sesame oil, and a bit of dried dill. Of course, we shouldn't forget another important ingredient: calamansi juice (added to the pancit on your plate).

Verdict: hubby said it tasted weird (LOL) while my two-year old ate two servings of the dish. As for me, I liked it. :P

Food Friday Players:

ps. should have done this EONS ago: adding a backlink to those who played as my way of saying thanks for linking back. :)

*I don't think my other blog will be 'operational' real soon...and I don't think I have the time to make another blog, so Food Friday is here to stay. For now. I think. Many many thanks to those who have kept on playing! :)

Should I? Or shouldn't I?

They say that if your skin gets exposed to the sun all the time it can cause it to age way ahead of time. I know, there are lots of anti wrinkle creams around, but taking care of our skin the right way is important, too. There are not only physical aspects, but also what you feel inside and what you put inside your body. Admittedly, I don't have a perfect regimen about how I take care of my skin, but I try. For one, I try to eat more vegetables. It's fine, since I love vegetables more compared to meat. I just need to sleep more, though. Sleep is important.

But I just feel so good when I surf the internet...Oh well. Must try to curb the habit!
