No idea what these are ... I honestly thought they were maggots. Or maybe they are. They are really small. Really. Used my phone, with the macro lens. The food was gone in an hour!
Anyway, I like the thingies' color. :P
Pink!

The cats were playing with this bug when we found it...we were sure they weren't going to eat it, but still we had to get this bug away from the cat's paws and mouth! We set it free after I took some shots... :)
I didn't mean that in a negative way. lol. It's just that sometimes (specially when you meet someone for the first time) people always let us see their good side and never when they are in a tantrum or something. But that's just being polite, I suppose. Proper etiquette too.
Still...
I know, we'll learn more about each person (as well as ourselves) as we continue to interact together.
Eventually, I'll know you. As you'll know me. :D

Ever since I had my first camera I became more fascinated with macro photography. When I got my first dslr (would you believe I managed to buy one because of blogging? Yes, I did..and I was - still am! - soooo HAPPY!) it came with the kit, so getting macro shots was quite frustrating. I guess hubby saw my frustration, and that's why he got me my own macro lens (Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens). Not immediately, though..since it was/is quite pricey (for us, anyway. lol). We got the macro lens only after a couple or so of dslr changes later. :)
It's my fave among the few lenses that we own (we only have 3, lol). Right now, am hoping for one of those wide-angle lenses (the 10-22mm, maybe?)...but am not going to cry my heart out if we don't get one this year. I still LOVE my 100mm! :D

...my SIL calls this the Mickey Mouse flower. I know, it looks way different than Mickey Mouse, but this flower goes through a stage wherein it sort of resembles Mickey Mouse, I guess. Hence the name. lol. :D

Macro Flowers
So lucky to be one of the top "most voted shot" over at Weekend Flowers! Thank you for the lovely feature, Tina! Grabbing the badge. :)
No idea what this plant is called...am not even sure if these are the plant's flowers, but it does look like it! The leaves are nicely patterned and that's why my sister got this plant. The small flowers aren't really that noticeable (it's small and lightly colored), but it helps complete the picture. ^_^

Most people think of this plant as a weed, but my sister likes the tiny flowers so she lets them be on her garden. She does trim them every now and then since they can spread fast....
I think the flower looks cute, too... ^_^

Macro Flowers Saturday
| edited using picasa3 |
I am supposed to be doing a lot of photo editing; my son borrowed my camera a few days ago during a recent school field trip, and he wants to post most of the pics that he took on to his FB account. Am left with the editing bit. It's relatively easy but a bit monotonous specially if you have to edit close to a hundred and fifty shots. But am not complaining, lol. I honestly like some of the shots and who knows...some of them might even land in here! :P
... and now it's time for me to get back to 'work'. :D
I knew that I just had to have that macro lens... to take pictures like this! :)
Hmmmm...i think i could enlarge that further with one of those macro extension tubes...but i have to save for one of those yet. ;)
ps. picture intentionally small...too many picture thieves these days! yup, i was a victim twice...but that's such a long story (and too long ago---around two years) that it's not worth telling over again. LOL
Am definitely having fun with this lens! :D
One of the shots taken using the new macro lens ... my hands are shaky! i didn't use the tripod since i thought it wouldn't matter (boy, was i wrong! ugh).
Blame it all on the image stabilizer! lol. I took that feature for granted, but now i know. ;)
The newer macro lens has got an image stabilizer, while the one that i got doesn't. Budget, that's the reason. It is double the price (roughly around Php62T at the Canon store).
Oh well. That's ok. I love experimenting with it. So far. :D
