It is a scary thought (being diagnosed with any disease), but we normally don't let it affect us that much. Of course, we have to be extra careful (more vigilant that the kids ~ as well as the adults ~ wash their hands, eat nourishing foods, take their vitamins, and change shirts specially when they perspire), but we still go through our usual routines. I must admit though, that I now take the time to "de-stress" regularly (i think that that will help boost one's immune system). And that means sleeping regularly! LOL.
I just hope that the disease will be "stopped" soon.
WQ #47: Are you a patient person? Has your patience been tested a lot of times? What have you done about it?
Oh my ... yes, my patience has been tested countless of times! I
It is a continuing process for me ... learning how to be more patient, understanding and tolerant. :)
WQ #46: How did you spend Palm Sunday and what were your thoughts during that day?
Last Palm Sunday I spent the day packing and getting into a state of panic. lol. Nothing dramatic, really. My family and I were scheduled to leave for the province the next day, and since I have a feisty seven month old kiddo, packing was sort of 'forgotten'; till the very last minute. I had to think of the things that my kids will be needing for our month long vacation, as well as those things that they'll need while we're traveling. It was my baby's first time to ride a plane, too, so I was really worried how he'd react. Sad to say, we never did get to go to church that day ... but the trip went well. :)
WQ #45: What is your favorite ice cream flavor or ice cream concoction?

WQ #44: What graduation memories do you hold dear in your heart and why?
My high school graduation was probably the most memorable; some batchmates were crying while we were singing our graduation song! ... I don't remember much my preparatory and grade school graduation (playing was always in my mind, then ...

WQ #43: So let’s try to be a little showbiz this time and write down our thoughts when BB said that Rustom is dead when he came out.
Am actually quite 'late' with this bit of news. Never knew that Rustom has changed his name and that he's now in Wikipedia!!! LOL.
I actually admire him for 'going out of the closet' and showing everybody what he really is inside. I mean, being the brother of some tough guys out there, it could be pretty hard accepting and admitting something like that! Maybe his brothers already knew about his preferences, and just kept mum about it. I can just imagine the pressures the family has to go through (including Carmina V!). A showbiz family at that!

WQ #42: What are fun summer activities you do with your family?
Usually during summer we go visit my parents in the province (Leyte) and we stay there for a month or so, since my eldest feels like he can never get enough of staying there and playing with his cousins. The rest of the summer (after returning from the province), is spent visiting my MIL and going on short trips (like to Subic). But I guess that this summer it will be slightly different (no more short trips, for now) since we have the little one to consider. It is going to be different since he's just a baby and we do plan our vacation with that in mind; but he is growing fast (like most kids these days!) and who knows, maybe one of these days he'll be up and about playing with a KVM switch sooner than we think. LOL!!! :D
WQ #41: Do you love your job?
LOL ... i must admit i have this love-hate relationship when it comes to my situation. Is being a stay-at-home-mom a job? It's a full-time job, I say! Good thing it comes with a lot of perks! :D
WQ #40: If you were asked to recall the things that you do, what were the things that you think should be improved and worked on for you to be a better person?
I believe that I should have been more patient and less harsh with my words. There are certainly times when I just tend to blurt out whatever it is I feel at that time; when in fact I shouldn't have said them at all since I know that deep inside I really didn't mean it. I just wanted to get back at that person for hurting me, and so .... out came those hurtful words. I know I can't take back what I said back then, but thinking about it, it has made me realize that this is really true:
I know most won't agree with me ... but everybody has their own opinion, and this is mine. Anybody needs an air purifier? :D
WQ #39: What are the love songs that touched your heart the most?
Oh my ... there are lots! Mostly those sad love songs, though. I love songs by Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli (even if i don't understand much of what he says! lol), Julia Fordham, and even some of those songs by the Carpenters. lol. :)
WQ #38: What are your favorite romantic movies of all time?
Well, am not really much of a "romantic movie" fan ... so i can only mention a few.
They might not even be romantic for some! lol. Here goes:
- Lost Horizon (i'd like to think this is romantic, lol. love the soundtrack!)
- Sabrina (am an Audrey Hepburn fan ... hehehe)
- Somewhere In Time (love the story!)
- An Affair To Remember (tear jerker ... *sniff*)
WQ #36: With a long list of women’s health concerns, what is it that you dread to hear the doctor say to you?
I wouldn't want to be told i've got cancer and i only have three months to live!!! :(
WQ #35: If you were to “reinvent yourself” what would you do?
Honestly, I don't know. Hydroxycut is not one of those, though. LOL. Lots of things should be considered first; priority for me would be the family. Knowing that they are safe and content spells happiness for me. But if I have my way, I would love to have more time to dabble with my hobby as well as do some more traveling (i do so envy hubby because he gets to travel all the time... though i don't want the pressures that goes with his job! lol).
WQ #34: What are you looking forward to in 2009?
The first thing that comes to mind is summer. lol. We plan to go home to the province this summer so that my parents will see the newest "apo". It's going to be my father's birthday, too, so that makes it more special. We normally go home every summer but we couldn't last year because i was preggy. lol. i doubt if the airline would permit me to board the plane!
As of now i am not really planning much. i am just enjoying each day as it comes. :)
WQ #33: How was your Christmas?
This time it's different for us, since we have a new baby in the family. We couldn't be as mobile as we want (the baby's still small to go malling, lol. in our opinion, anyway. hehe), so we went to my MIL's place in the province to celebrate Christmas. Our older son, who first wanted to spend his Christmas vacation at my parent's place (also in the province), decided finally to join us since he said that he didn't want to miss his younger brother's first Christmas (sweet, i know ... lol). We all had a wonderful time, just being together. :)
WQ #32: What are the Christmas traditions you and your family practice?
We usually get together and have a feast. lol. Nobody gets to look online for car insurance quotes since everybody's busy eating. Of course, sometimes there are quiet times but that rarely happens. Everyone's so busy talking and eating that there wouldn't be enough room to just sit and be quiet.
In hubby's family (we were there on Christmas Day) we ate noche buena together and then the cousins go visit and greet the lolos and lolas (and maybe get something in return, like the "red envelope" or a new shirt, or food specially prepared for them) and do lots of eating and chatting. There were certainly lots of visitors at my MIL's place that day. Tiring (and noisy! lol) but a fun-filled day for us all.

Did the mother do the right thing, giving her daughter money in secrecy, to add to what has to be paid from that stolen fund?
Was the mother able to teach her daughter a lesson or not?
Do you think the daughter is a responsible person?
~ i don't think that the mother did the right thing ... helping her daughter in secret. i believe that it should be out in the open, specially in the family. the daughter sounds like a responsible person, but like everyone else, she made a mistake and she has to pay for it (literally!). :)
WQ #21:
Do you think NOW is really the time to patronize our locally made milk and milk products or would you still trust products manufactured in other countries?
~ i would still trust the milk from other countries ... but it is also a good thing to patronize locally produced milk and milk products. have you tried the ice cream being made over at DTRI in UP Los Baňos? tastes really good, including their other products. though am not so sure if they still make them to this day ... :)

If you are to start a new blog focusing mainly on a particular topic or niche, what would your niche blogging be all about?
I think I would love to be blogging about photography. It would not be entirely about taking pictures (or the cameras and other technical details), though. It would also be about my subjects (mostly the flora and fauna around us) and how we can try to "save" them, if they are already endangered.The site will sort of educate others (as well as myself, as I do some researching), about the plight of the animals, well as the plants, that are endemic to our country.
Quite an ambitious plan, I guess, since this would need money (for cameras and field trips) as well as time. LOL. Something which I just don't have the luxury of having these days. :)

If I were an Olympian ... well, there are lots of sports that I used to be so interested in, when I was younger. lol. I loved watching gymnastics, ice skating, and even equestrian (due to my love of horses, I guess). I never did get to learn any of those sports that I mentioned (except maybe work with some of the horses at Manila Polo Club while on our clinics subject ~but that was EONS ago!), but still I find them interesting.
I guess I still want to be dealing with horses, so I would definitely choose being an equestrian. :)

I want to know your thoughts about this photo. What can you say about this?
I agree, girls (or boys) shouldn't be permitted to go outside their own homes and go roaming around public areas wearing such scanty clothing; even if it's humid and hot. Call me prude, but you are courting trouble if your kid goes out like that. It's just not proper, and there are "people" out there who are capable of doing harm to innocent kids.Let's protect our kids ... teach them the proper way while they are still young and impressionable. Or else it might be too late.
WQ 11:
Should people heed the call of the Catholic Church to not use artificial means of contraception/reproductive health products and services OR should they go ahead, talk to their doctors and plan for how they want to practice family planning?
I must admit I am biased when it comes to something as personal as family planning. I honestly would rather talk to my doctor. No abortion for me, of course, like taking medicines or herbs that would disrupt the ongoing pregnancy (abortifacients). After all, I believe that it is a blessing if you get pregnant.
However, there is such a thing as being responsible, too. If you can't afford to support more than one kid, then precautions should be done to avoid pregnancy. That's where education is pretty important here. Specially in remote areas (or even in squatter areas located in big cities), where some families have more than three kids (and another one along the way!). Parents/couples should be made to understand the pros and cons of having a big family, specially with our current financial/political situation.
Based on my personal experience, some parents want to have more children because they think that their children will help them (usually financially) as the year passes, and take care of their parents when they become old and frail. I really don't believe in this .... sure, some children do that, but there are those who are known to have left their parents, too.
I believe that it's the other way around: I am responsible for my kid(s) and I want to make sure that they will be well-prepared when I'm old and gone. I won't obligate them to take care of me when I'm old and frail (after all, they didn't ask to be brought to this world!), but of course it would be nice if they do! lol. :D

- I would love to be able to spend it with my loved ones ... no grand parties or anything. In fact, I want to spend it somewhere quiet with just the family. Maybe at a secluded beach, or something. Or on a nature trip. No crowds, please. But good food, yes. :)

- - the first would be the time I get to have with my family ... specially now that hubby's work assignment is a bit far from home, which means that he's usually gone every two weeks. doesn't have to be anywhere extravagant; am happy even if we're just here at home, as long as we're together.
- - time for myself ... :)
- - i love going out with my family, specially the nature trips we used to have ...
- - being able to do my bit for the environment .... and one of which is to take some shots of the critters before they are gone for good!
- - last, but never the least, time between me and my Creator. :)

It need not be somewhere really far and exotic; because for me to take good shots doesn't mean that you need to be in a picturesque area. In fact, in my opinion, if a photographer can show something "different" which he took from a common enough place (like a market or at a park) then I'd say he's done his "job" well! :)
