Narconon Vista Bay at DrugRehab.net

Nobody ever aspires to be a drug addict, or an alcoholic. Or to have one in the family. The addiction may have started innocently enough, like from experimentation; then if the experience was pleasing, to just being an occasional user. However, for some, that pleasant experience could be one way to deal with unwanted situations; kind of like a pain killer. Unknowing to the user, the more unwanted situations crop up, the more the craving for that pleasant experience escalates, too. Thus leading to addiction.

But just because a person got addicted to alcohol or drugs doesn't mean that all hope is lost. On the contrary. The next thing to do, if you really do care for that person, is to find a reputable drug rehab program. This is where Narconon Vista Bay and Narconon Northern California gets in. They have the most effective rehabilitation program today, with 76% of their graduates happily choosing to remain drug-free and be responsible members of the society. Their spacious 30-acre campus aims at giving their students (that's what narconon call their drug rehab clients) ample space to be comfortable and just be themselves.

Of course, there is always the risk of a relapse, but because of the narconon sauna program which helps detoxify the body, together with medically supervised exercise, and nutritional supplements, those drugs which have been deposited in fat tissues for years are slowly but surely being released from the body. This significantly releases the body from any feeling of cravings for the chemical since the stimulant is no longer there. Thus a much lower incidence of relapsing.

So, if a loved one, or a cherished friend is addicted and needs help, don't hesitate. Check out DrugRehab.net, the home of Narconon Vista Bay here in the internet.Iif you want, call 1-800-556-8885 right now, to speak directly to a counselor.

Remember there is always hope. :)

Relocation.com for All Your Moving Needs

0 shared thoughts
My family and I have moved from one city to another for at least three times already, in the last four years. It wasn't because we were running away from somebody/something (lol). It was simply because of hubby's work. We hired a truck back then, and crammed up all our stuffs together in one big container. It wasn't as organized as I wanted it to be, but that truck had to do.

For those planning on moving, however, there's this great site that will make moving feel like a breeze. Check out Relocation.com, a company which can provide you with a list of licensed moving companies, help you with auto transport, and even guide you in finding a home! If your destination is abroad, and you need international shipping, they can also provide adequate service in that area.

Their services doesn't just end there! They can also help in finding the perfect house for you. And just in case you need a roommate to help you pay for the bill, check out their rooommate search Their site is so convenient and easy to maneuver around, everything's right there, right at your fingertips! There are also other features within the site that I'm so sure would be very useful for every moving needs, so go ahead and check them out!

A Birthday and Meade mySky

0 shared thoughts
Don't you find the sky enchanting? Whether it's cloudy, a clear blue, filled with the glow of the sunset, or simply filled with stars at night, I always find the sky so interesting. Nothing beats the sky when it comes to "costume changes!", a friend used to tell me. I have to agree with her on that. We used to just sit and laze around some days when we were at college, and just look at the sky, speaking nothing; but eating our favorite snack ~ fried banana in caramelized sugar. Yummy!

Her birthday's going to be next month, and good thing I chanced upon Opticsplanet.net a while back, and found out about their wonderful gift ideas! They have this newest and coolest gadget for viewing the sky yet ~ Meade MySky, a personal sky exploration guide. What's great about it is that it can be linked to a computerized Meade telescope for that ultimate sky viewing experience. This interactive, multi-media, hand-held gadget is easy to use and doesn't require you to be knowledgeable about the sky's inhabitants! Just point and shoot, and it will do the rest. Now isn't that neat?

I haven't told my friend about this great gadget yet, but I know that she will absolutely adore this .... and who knows? Maybe her eldest son will join in on the fun, too! Not only will this amazing piece be lots of fun, but am so sure that using this will make learning fun for the whole family.

8 Random Things

5 shared thoughts

I was tagged last week by Gracie, at "Echoes of Grace," for a meme; the objective of this one is to blog “8 Random Facts About Myself”.

The rules are as follows:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Well, here goes:

1. I love eating dried salted fish (or as we call it here, "tuyo"). Now, I know that sounds weird (and even gross??!! lol) for some, but eating one is just like eating anchovies... sort of. The just-right saltiness goes so well with the bland (but aromatic) rice we usually eat every meal. Some dried salted fishes aren't prepared well enough, though, so choosing the good ones need a bit of practice. :)

Below is a shot of the "tuyo" with scrambled eggs and hot steaming rice ... breakfast! ;P

2. One of my favorite veggie viand ever is banana blossom with coconut milk. I know, another weird food, but i just love it! Even taught myself to cook it! lol ...

3. Sunsets always fascinates me. Getting the colors just right is always a challenge. :)

4. I love taking pictures (hahaha, it is already obvious, i know ...); mostly macro shots, if my camera cooperates (my camera's basically just a pointnshoot thingy; waiting for the day when i finally get to have my first DSLR ~digital single lens reflex camera!).

<

5. I love listening to our church's bells after every service ... calming.

ding-dong!

6. I have this urge to save them ...

ants ...

7. Apart from sunsets, i also love morning lights ...

morning light

8.i love eating seafoods! :)

seafood...

I notice that most of what i wrote here is about food ... hahaha, that just shows that aside from taking pictures and blogging, food is also one of my interests! ;P

Now, I know most of you have already been tagged for this meme (i read some of it) so I won't be tagging anybody this time. But for those who are interested, please feel free to tell me so and i will visit your blogs and check them out! Am sure it'll be interesting. :)

Happy Weekend!

Learning for Fun

0 shared thoughts
Does your kid seem to be lagging behind in Math? For some kids, the mere mention of Math makes them sleepy, or else they'll assume this I'm-not-interested look on their faces. Honestly, I was one of them. But being a parent now, I know how important learning the basics of mathematics can be to a child. Over at SCORE!, they have Math Tutors who I believe can do wonders with a child bored (or scared?) with Mathematics. They believe that learning math can be less of a complication, but more of fun. After all, like what SCORE! says at their webpage, "when children love to learn, they'll learn".

Friday's Feast

Appetizer

Name a funny habit you have.

Twirling my hair between my fingers .... ? ;P

Soup

If you could instantly know how to play a musical instrument, which one would you pick?

Oh wow ... i could think of lots, but if i have to choose just one ... it'd be the drums!

Salad

How long is your hair?

Well, am starting to grow it longer this year, and thankfully it's already reached my shoulders! I hope i can keep up with this for long ...

Main Course

When was the last time you forgave someone, and who was it?

Oh my.... this i really am not too sure. I think it was my brother .... and that was around 8 or 10 years ago! Am so glad i met my hubby ... he made me realise that those pent-up emotions I had weren't there because of other persons, but they were there because i chose to made them stay there ... So these days whenever some people annoy me, i don't think much of it anymore. I just let them be. that's their nature, not mine. hope i'm making sense here!

Dessert

What is your favorite kitchen appliance?

Does the refrigerator count? Lately it has really been sooo hot here, that driniking cold beverage is a must these days. ;)

I wish you today ...
a day of
special graces...
a day of
extraordinary things to smile about
And a day with
much happiness
and love
in your heart!!

Happy Birthday

Of course, i got that during my birthday (which, by the way, was two months ago)
and I don't know why, but i just can't erase that from my cellphone. I guess the simplicity of that message just got through me. :)

Or you can call me a softie. lol ...

The internet is an interesting place ... been to these sites : here, here, and here. The owner of those sites is Navtej Kohli, owner of grafix softech, a software application company which is operating out of Costa Rica. Interestingly, you can also find him here and here. I find his blogspot posts quite interesting, though of course it could just be me and my unusual preferences. Or maybe I am biased because I am a blogspot user. :)

The computer conked out on me ....

Was updating a software and then it stated that it needed to reboot; did it, then when it came back, it wouldn't/couldn't continue on with windows.

Aaaaarrgh!

Now am using hubby's computer.
So wouldn't be able to spend as much time here as i normally can... oh well.

The good thing is that i finally did some catching up with my sleeping (hahaha) ... the bad thing though, is that i have more time munching on junk food and just being a couch potato! :(

Hopefully, our computer maintenance guy wil be here on sunday to fix it up.

PPP Direct Launched

0 shared thoughts
PPP Direct was launched as part of a number of big new features offered by PayPerPost to it's Posties. With this set-up, Advertisers can directly approach the Posties, who can then write special blog posts offered to them. A widget placed on the blog will be clicked by the Advertisers, and then the Posties will be given an offer. This way, you make money at your own terms.

Some competitors charge 50-100% markup on your post, while PayPerPost charges only 35% for their self service model. A mark-up is understandable since the competitor have to pay for matchmaking, customer service processes, and tax processes. These are the ones that costs real money. However, at PayPerPost, they have erased the need for a middleman. Most of the details will be placed on your widget and from there, it's up to the Postie if the offer made by the Advertiser is good enough, or not. Hence the lesser charge, and you get to keep and earn more money from your efforts.

This doesn't mean, though, that PayPerPost has totally abandoned the Postie (as well as the Advertiser) when it comes to PPP Direct. That's why they still maintain a 10% service fee, which is undobtedly lower compared to other competitors. PayPerPost is there to provide a steady source of security for both Posties and Advertisers.

Raindrop

Finally, it rained earlier today!

I was finishing the laundry when the heavy rain suddenly fell ... i was expecting it. It was sooo humid before the actual rain fell. Come to think of it, it's still humid until now. But rain's not around anymore. Or maybe it's just there, somewhere.

Lurking. hehehe.

Curtains over at Terry's

0 shared thoughts
A house wouldn't be as comfy if it doesn't have any curtains. Curtains are there to beautify the house as well as to give it character. Different curtain designs also send out signals the type of family living inside the house. At Terry's Fabrics they not only offer curtains, but also other curtain necessities, like curtain poles. They offer metal poles, wooden poles, and bay window curtain poles, including extendable curtain poles for those who wants more flexibility, and net rails. They also offer a wide range of very interesting curtain fabrics as well as curtain tracks and their accessories. Who would have thought that there are now lots of possibilities with curtains, and with the best value for your money, all that available at Terry's Fabrics!

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have just one site which is strictly dedicated to our pets? Now that's very much possible, thanks to Coolpets.com. Contribute news or latest topics about our pets, join the forums, and even make our own pet page. But that's not all, there's even a page where they can join contests, and a tribe section where people with the same pets group together. They also have this EncycloPETdia™ where you can add sites which you think would be appreciated by the other members. So let's check out this brand new site right now ... and meet the other uber cool pets out there.

Wouldn't it be great if you have night vision whenever you want? Night vision goggles, night vision binoculars, and night vision scopes are just some of the cool gadgets being featured over at Opticplanets.com. But that's not all that they have! They also offer tactical/military gears, microscopes, sunglasses, binoculars, and much much more! Personally, I'd want to get one of their flashlights (never ever go on long trips without bringing one!), spotting scopes (for my digital camera), batteries (it's always sensible to have a spare set around) and that great waterproof drop-resistant ipod case for my ipod nano.

There are wonderful deals to be had, if you browse through their online products. And to top it all, they offer free UPS ground shipping! Now that sound real good to me! :)

Life Turned Upside Down

2 shared thoughts
Have you ever been wronged? Or something done to you without you knowing why you were dealt with that way? Life can really be so unfair at times, specially if it gets turned upside down in a blink. If you have, be sure to watch USA Network's Burn Notice, scheduled to premiere on June 28th!

Watch as Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) copes from being a spy to being "burned" (meaning, he gets fired) while on a difficult mission. He gets dumped on the one place he vowed he'd never return, with his old foes trying to gun him down, while the government freezes his bank account and made sure he'll never work again. But he's got his Special Ops training still intact, and being a survivor since 17, he scrapes by lending his services to those who can't approach the cops. He's on a different mission now, though; and that is to find the person responsible for him receiving the Burn Notice. Of course, he can't very well do all of these on his own. He's got two "friends" he can always count on: Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar), a former ex-girlfriend who happened to be associated with the IRA for 14 years, before she left the organization, and also an expert in explosives and lock-picking, amongst other things; and Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell), a former Navy Seal, Military Intel Operative, and all-around Cold Warrior.

Whether Michael wants to or not, he needs them. Watch how Michael deals with all of these, together with his adoring mother, Madeline (Sharon Gless), who helps him get clients while playing cards with her neigbors. Armed with his Special Ops training, some good "friends" and a doting mother who keeps calling, let's watch Michael as he reluctantly becomes everybody's hero.

Cheap Phone Cards!

0 shared thoughts
Yes, that's true!

Most of us have relatives or friends living abroad (or just really far far away), and once in a while (if not always!) we just get the urge to know how they are doing and getting on with their lives. Sending emails is just not enough ... or even chatting through messengers. That's where cheap phone card get in the picture! Having one around is quite handy, really quite convenient, specially during cases where you need to call long distance RIGHT AWAY.

Pingo long distance card can be used for long distance calls in 35 countries, can be recharged automatically, and utilizes PINless dialing (PINpass™ is used instead); one great thing is that when you refer-a-friend, you get $5.00 USD in free calls! Now isn't that great?

Another fabulous feature that I found on their site is their Ratewatcher™ button. This definitely eliminates the hassle of comparing calling cards, then looking for the ones with the lowest rates. So convenient! All this in one great site where you not only come away feeling good, but also have this feeling that pretty soon you'll be calling your best friend or family (who's moved far far away), more often!

So, what are you waiting for? Head on right over to the site and check them out!

Vibrant Sunset

5 shared thoughts

I don't know why, but sunsets fascinate me ...
specially that certain time when the sun is just about really low. Usually the colors are more magnificent at that time. More dramatic.

I read somewhere that to get really great sunset images, try waiting for that certain time ... the crucial few minutes of gorgeous colors.

Doesn't look like i got it, though. Looks more like i caught the sunset when it was still hot and vibrant!

Next time, perhaps. :)

Bollywood Images at IIFA 2007

0 shared thoughts
The IIFA (Indian International Film Academy) 2007 Media Conference was held recently in Leeds, UK, and some well-known celebrities were around to grace the occasion.

Photographer Vijay was there to take some shots, and had posted it over on his site, moviegupshup. So, are you interested in having bollywood wallpapers for your computer? No need to look for other sites! The site is quite easy to browse through and the pictures, even in thumbnails, are adequately spaced; making it easier to view, then choose. You just click on the picture that you like (or find interesting) and then preview it on a larger scale. You can leave comments about the shot, which is really quite useful if you want to let the photographer know what you think about the picture(s), rate them, or send them to your friends as e-cards. Now that's really a convenient way to get your bollywood wallpapers!

Here at moviegupshup you'll find pictures of those gorgeous ladies and their handsome leading men. Their most recent offering, the IIFA 2007 pictures, also features Salman Kahn, Shilpa Shetty, Mansi Scott (the host during the conference), and Abhishek Bachchan, among others. You can take your pick among the one hundred plus shots taken by photographer Vijay during the said occasion. The pictures here are available for downloads, and of good quality. Since the site holds numerous shots taken during the event, there are plenty to choose from, including a shot of the gorgeous Diya Mirza as seen at IIFA 2007.

So, for those who are into bollywood (am so sure there are lots out there!), go over there right now and check out the site! You'll enjoy it.

Thirteen Things about maiylah
Thirteen Reasons Why I Decided to be a SAHM
(Stay-At-Home-Mom)

1. I was too paranoid to hire a nanny
i know, i think i've been watching too many movies back then ... and reading too many detective books! lol

2. I wanted to be there when my son did those "first things"
like the first time he smiled back at me ... so precious!

3. I enjoyed just lazing around the house
nothing beats sleeping till your head hurts! lol

4. I very well wouldn't have much time for blogging if I had a day job
well, unless i skip on sleeping ...

5. I have the time to take pictures ... lots of them. :)
yeah, lots ...

6. I have the time to learn stuffs through the internet, for free!
like photoshop techniques, taking good pictures, blogging ...

7. I like the idea of being here (at home) when my son or husband arrives
my son from school, and my hubby from work ...

8. I can watch my favorite tv shows uninterrupted
lol ...

9. I am the boss here (at home)
hopefully, i'm not a tyrant, or anything ...

10. There are only two schedules to consider, when we decide on going on long trips
my son's school, and hubby's work, schedules

11. I have the time to "just be" with my son and learn stuffs from his views and opinions
believe me, sometimes his views and opinions are way more mature than mine!

12. I have the time to visit my sisters whenever i want to
i visit them almost everyday!

13. I am loving it (being a SAHM) too much to give it up now! :)
life isn't all a bed of roses, of course; but considering things, i'm pretty much satisfied!
I believe i need those ups and downs to spice things up a bit. :)

My Blog Just Got Approved By PPP .... and that 's why ....

... I'm so happy today! :)

Honestly, I never thought that blogging could be rewarding, not only in terms of getting to know other bloggers (and their secrets, at times, hehehe) but also financially. A blogger friend encouraged me to join groups with themes (or are they called memes?), which lead me to visiting other bloggers and learning about pro blogging. Companies advertise on blogs, the blogger gets paid for it, and that makes the blogger a pro blogger. Sounds, so simple, isn't it? But that doesn't mean you'd go from rags to riches overnight! Like other jobs (somehow, that word doesn't sound so appealing, huh?!) this takes time, too. But, as long as you enjoy blogging, and companies continue to advertise on blogs, being a pro blogger definitely sounds appealing to me!
