Meow

Like most bloggers, I love to take pictures. I don't have the time to edit them as much as I want to, though. That's why when I have the time, I edit and edit. Usually I use picasa3 (you can download it for free, and it not only edits...it organizes your shots, too - within the program, of course) and this was one of the results. Weird, huh? LOL.

...looking at the shot..i think i'd like to see this on a shirt. :D

I didn't mean that in a negative way. lol. It's just that sometimes (specially when you meet someone for the first time) people always let us see their good side and never when they are in a tantrum or something. But that's just being polite, I suppose. Proper etiquette too.

Still...

I know, we'll learn more about each person (as well as ourselves) as we continue to interact together.

Eventually, I'll know you. As you'll know me. :D

Eight Things About Me That You Didn't Know ....

1. My weight is 61Kg ... that makes me about three kilograms more than my ideal weight. (And I thought I was fat when I was in high school! lol)
   
2. I wore prescription glasses since my high school freshman years.
3. I fell off a horse once ... lol. Funny, really, since the horse wasn't galloping, or anything. I got the horse on a slow walk. I just didnt put the saddle right! I didn't want to tighten it too much! Good thing the horse just stayed put while I detangled myself from the saddle ... :D
4. I get scared easily at times (ghosts and stuffs), but I love watching horror movies. :D
5. I came from a large family... two brothers and six sisters.
   
6. I got married last May 1998. Whoa ... almost a decade ago ... !!
7. I've been blogging "heavily" only since August of this year (2007) ... and I've met lots of interesting people online already!
8. I would love to be able to visit Africa someday! :)

I've been tagged by Bonggamom ... I'm supposed to write here seven random/weird stuffs about myself. Loved her post about Filipino Foods ... it made me hungry, though ...

... and I just finished lunch! LOL

Here are my seven thingies ...
Seven Things that Should Always Be Inside My Refrigerator!
yeah, kind of lame, but .... ;P

1. I must always have eggs; for those instant quick-fix meals when a hungry kid or hubby arrives.
2. Ground pork, packed in serving sizes; no need to thaw all of the meat when I need only a small portion. Saves time and energy, as well as preserving the unused portion of the meat longer.
3. Cheddar cheese! But of course, I am also open to other kinds of cheese varieties, though not so much the blue cheese. lol.
4. Fresh milk ... our son loves that!
5. Vegetables, like squash and native pechay.
6. Butter, since my son loves them on his pancakes. Sometimes I use them while cooking, too.
7. Calamansi .... we must always have this. It's our main source of vitamin C! :)
   

Interestingy, we normally don't put water (for cold water) inside the refrigerator. Hey, that's another "weird" thing about me! LOL

Photo Hunt: Flexible

The palm tree (specially the leaves) are so flexible, they are used for different stuffs (e.g. house, wrap food, etc.).

Since this type of plant is quite abundant here in our country, it does have plenty of uses; almost all of it's parts are being utilized. But what I really love about it is it's fruit. Just love the juice! :)

8 Random Things

I was tagged last week by Gracie, at "Echoes of Grace," for a meme; the objective of this one is to blog “8 Random Facts About Myself”.

The rules are as follows:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Well, here goes:

1. I love eating dried salted fish (or as we call it here, "tuyo"). Now, I know that sounds weird (and even gross??!! lol) for some, but eating one is just like eating anchovies... sort of. The just-right saltiness goes so well with the bland (but aromatic) rice we usually eat every meal. Some dried salted fishes aren't prepared well enough, though, so choosing the good ones need a bit of practice. :)

Below is a shot of the "tuyo" with scrambled eggs and hot steaming rice ... breakfast! ;P

2. One of my favorite veggie viand ever is banana blossom with coconut milk. I know, another weird food, but i just love it! Even taught myself to cook it! lol ...

3. Sunsets always fascinates me. Getting the colors just right is always a challenge. :)

4. I love taking pictures (hahaha, it is already obvious, i know ...); mostly macro shots, if my camera cooperates (my camera's basically just a pointnshoot thingy; waiting for the day when i finally get to have my first DSLR ~digital single lens reflex camera!).

5. I love listening to our church's bells after every service ... calming.

6. I have this urge to save them ...

7. Apart from sunsets, i also love morning lights ...

8.i love eating seafoods! :)

I notice that most of what i wrote here is about food ... hahaha, that just shows that aside from taking pictures and blogging, food is also one of my interests! ;P

Thirteen Reasons Why I Decided to be a SAHM
(Stay-At-Home-Mom)

1. I was too paranoid to hire a nanny
i know, i think i've been watching too many movies back then ... and reading too many detective books! lol

2. I wanted to be there when my son did those "first things"
like the first time he smiled back at me ... so precious!

3. I enjoyed just lazing around the house
nothing beats sleeping till your head hurts! lol

4. I very well wouldn't have much time for blogging if I had a day job
well, unless i skip on sleeping ...

5. I have the time to take pictures ... lots of them. :)
yeah, lots ...

6. I have the time to learn stuffs through the internet, for free!
like photoshop techniques, taking good pictures, blogging ...

7. I like the idea of being here (at home) when my son or husband arrives
my son from school, and my hubby from work ...

8. I can watch my favorite tv shows uninterrupted
lol ...

9. I am the boss here (at home)
hopefully, i'm not a tyrant, or anything ...

10. There are only two schedules to consider, when we decide on going on long trips
my son's school, and hubby's work, schedules

11. I have the time to "just be" with my son and learn stuffs from his views and opinions
believe me, sometimes his views and opinions are way more mature than mine!

12. I have the time to visit my sisters whenever i want to
i visit them almost everyday!

13. I am loving it (being a SAHM) too much to give it up now! :)
life isn't all a bed of roses, of course; but considering things, i'm pretty much satisfied!
I believe i need those ups and downs to spice things up a bit. :)

Gee, i can think of a lot of things, but right now ... being somewhere far from the city and having my own digital SLR camera sounds "the best"!

Not too stressed, so i'd say ... a 4. Not too many cluttered stuffs that i had to pick up and put back in their places today. lol...

Oh ... honestly, i just use soap. No special cleanser, or anything. Is that a bad thing??!! If it is ... tell me!

Tonight is a blue moon! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.”
Seeing my hubby clean out the other room full (mostly) of his stuffs! He doesn't like throwing things right away ... but two weeks ago, he did clean the other room. Now, that is something that really happens only "once in a blue moon"! ;)

When was the last time it rained where you live?
Funny, it's raining right now. Well, it is the start of the rainy season already, so i really shouldn't be surprised. Btw, we only have two seasons ... yup, you guessed it right! Rainy and Dry! ;P
