This week's Featured in Food Friday player is .....

Ms. Mika of Time to Eat (Mika's Choice) with her post:
At The Festival

I must admit, I haven't tried this concoction before. But I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try!  Ms. Mika's blog is relatively new, and it's where she shares some of her restaurant and food reviews as well as her kitchen skills. Am sure she'd also appreciate it much if you drop by her comfortable nook; so hop on over and leave her some encouragements and commentluv, fellow foodies!

This week's Food Friday post is something which I had for breakfast:
Fried Rice with Tofu and Tomatoes

I can't deny it: I am a breakfast fan. lol. I can survive without dinner, but I CANNOT survive without breakfast! :P

Ingredients used:

  • marinated firm tofu (used soy sauce, smoked paprika, sugarcane vinegar, crushed black pepper, and a premix of different herbs - thyme, rosemary, marjoram, basil, oregano, and sage)

marinated firm tofu

  • ripe tomatoes
  • fried rice (sauteed chopped garlic in hot oil, and mixed in the rice; i also added a few drops of balsamic vinegar)
  • some salted fish strands/flakes (cooked the salted fish and separated the flesh from the bones)
  • chili slices (optional)

Preparation was equally simple:

  • Place fried rice on plate.
  • Fry the tofu then place on a plate with napkins to remove excess oil; slice when it has cooled down.
  • Put the tofu slices on the plate.
  • Slice the tomatoes and put beside the fried rice.
  • Top fried rice with salted fish strands/flakes and raw chili.

Went quite well with my morning drink: orange juice. <3

Same here, I skip dinner all the time but can't function during the day without a hearty breakfast and a large mug of coffee.:)

I haven't had tofu for breakfast though but I'm loving the idea. I'll make it on Saturday; the combination of spices, herbs, and vinegar sounds delicious.

Hello Mai!

I am in this week. I should have done this last night but was flat asleep. Glad to have this morning to try catching up some online stuff including the Friday memes. The thing is that if malapasan nako Friday evening, I feel am so late na mao dili nako ga buhat ug entry. hehehe

I will come back later to hop. I look forward to eating yoru breakfast food one day. I can't yet now because I am on DARE program for 1 week. Today we will eat food made of tomatoes only. I will try to take photos although haven't taken any photo since we started Monday morning. =) I better not forget my camera now. hehehee

Brb later.

Hi Maiylah,

Sorry for the very late comment hihi! Been very busy lately. Anyway, that's a yummy tofu! I can't buy a perfect tofu here in New Zealand, there are different kinds actually but I can't find the ones like in the markets in the Philippines. Now, I am craving for goto with tokwa't baboy hihihi! Thanks for dropping by my blog.
