Weekend Snapshot: Shrike

Shrike

I was looking out of our door and was quite happy to be seeing this bird again, a shrike. They have this "strange" behavior of sticking their food on to sharp sticks/branches; am not sure why, but maybe it's to get back to it when they are hungry. My son have seen some insects and a lizard stuck to a calamansi tree (it's got huge thorns!) here in my sister's garden, and we're guessing that it's the shrike's doing.

No wonder we've been seeing more of this bird lately! :)
