Food Friday

malunggay chips and suman

Two weekends ago hubby and I went to one of those "weekend markets" (I call them that since they are only around during weekends) near our place; we prefer going there (even if sometimes the products are a bit expensive) since the products being sold there are relatively fresher compared to, say, when you go to a supermarket. Plus I get to find there some food products that are quite 'new' for me, too ... like the malunggay (moringa) chips and the pinipig suman above. Forgot how much each costs, but I wasn't impressed by the taste. The chips tasted a bit weird and had a slightly bitter after-taste (but it was crunchy) while the pinipig suman looked like it had too much food coloring (btw, that brown thingy on the suman is muscovado sugar)! LOL

*ps. so sorry for not dropping by last week ... something came up. but will do better this week, promise! thanks, everyone! :)

DoH, I think, has pioneered the development of malunggay. In one of the local trade fairs, I bought malunggay and carrot pancit canton. And a meatless burger patty that tasted like "real" burger patty--the ingredients were protein-rich veggies, all natural.:p

Wow malunggay chips, sounds very healthy but if it's not good in taste i'll pass eating that hehehe! well ganyan talaga minsan pag healthy foods di gaanong masarap, anyway you did some justice with your shots, they look delicious! nice capture! about suman we have a lot here in Cainta so when i go to other towns i never buy, Just don't know why I have that attitude :-)

It;s my first time to hear that kind of delicacy and even see how it looks like.

Am sure that is a masarap na kakanin. :) Is this similar to suman?

I joined food friday first time. hope to see ya around!
