Paper Quilling

This is called paper quilling ... according to Wiki:
Quilling or Paper Filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs.

Because of this week's theme, I remembered this paper filigree that I made!
I made this last year ... sad to say, I didn't get to make another one!
will try starting with this hobby again. :)

These are cute! I have some that I have decorated the mats around photographs with. I'm sure they can be used for MANY purposes!

at first glance, I though it was a cake! Looks good.

Oh yes! It is a beautiful, time consuming craft/art. I have a candy cane made of many of those rolled up papers into circles that are very small. It even has holly and berries in red and green paper rolled.
I almost used it for my entry this week! Come and see what I did instead.

Loved yoru entry -- beautiful.

That's so pretty! You're very creative and patient.

I saw some paper quilling materials at the bookstore. The samples were fascinating.
