I know, some of you might not like this, but I do. I first tried this decades ago while I was browsing inside a grocery store's canned goods. I was still in college then, and starting to be adventurous with my food. I am so happy to have 'found' this again! ;)
All I did was fry those choplets (had to cut them first because they were a bit thick) and mixed them with what we were having for breakfast: canned pork and beans. LOL. I know, I shouldn't have...but I did, and the result is below (I placed it on a bed of lettuce). :D
Verdict: my family preferred eating them simply fried rather than mixing them with the pork and beans. lol.

Looks delicious!
Oohh, something vegetarian. My aunt in Baguio was actually trying to convince me to go vegetarian because there are other proteins like from soy that can satisfy my need for meat. She brought me to this place where they serve barbeque using soy protein. I loved it! ^_^
Next time I drop by the grocery, I'll try to look for something like that. Where did you see it pala? I've been really interested in how vegetarians replace meat in their diet eh.
opps now lang ako nakasali ulit sorry for the long break..ill post the new FFmeme lkogo asap too
is that salty?seeing "in brine" make me skeptical
heres my sharing for this week
i haven't tried this, or seen it in the supermarket. pork and beans, now we're talking.:p

There are different variety of it. Check out it's outlet at Manila Sanitarium and Hospital.
thanks, Lani
...couldn't find your food friday post for this week...?
thanks, blankPixels
...got that dun sa supermarket sa may greenhills shopping center. they also had other products, but i only got one. lol. will try the other products next time.
thanks, Jay
...no worries. glad to be 'seeing' you again.
...nope, it wasn't really that salty. you can wash the brine away before you cook them, if you want.
thanks, LM
...love the food that you posted! perfect for this no-meat friday (haha, parang isang meme din ata yan, ah!) kasi lapit na Holy Week.
thanks, MommyandMatt
...ako rin..i prefer easy to cook meals.
thanks, Joanna
...siguro mas maraming choices dyan!
thanks, Imriz
...sorry, no mr. linky (or something similar, hehehe) here. I prefer adding the links to your posts myself. that way, i'm sure the links go directly to your site instead of going to the linky's site first.
...but who knows? i just might add a linky here one of these days! am not totally close to the idea. lol
thanks, 'Lene
...yup, there were other products there at the supermarket as well. So they also have a branch at the Manila Sanitarium and Hospital? haven't been there, yet. Parang malayo ata yan dito sa house. KUK!! :D
many many thanks for playing again, everyone!
appreciate it much! ♥
It looks yummy. I should follow your lead and mix vegemeat with canned Onions and Beans (pork and beans without pork).
It's great that they are now available canned from Seventh Day Adventist (hospital). I used to make vegemeat from scratch which is a lot of work and wastes too much water. Now I just buy vital wheat gluten, mix it with water, slice, and boil with toyo and sibuyas. Sarap for vegan and vegetarian dishes.
I'm a bit early this week. I linked my post last week but forgot to publish it. Tumatanda na. heheh.
Banana-cue
my Lemon Meringue Pie is up! :D
Looks yummy and healthy. I also want them fried :D Here's my entry for this week (a bit lengthy hehehe)

I'd look for that vegetarian protein. But pork and beans, even then I don't quite like it. Happy weekend!

thanks, Peachkins
...love eating at Bodhi! but it has been ages since we've been there.
thanks, Halie
...di kasi sya ina-advertise, kaya di siya popular. lol
thanks, Tina
...appreciate the suggestion, sis. am looking for a plug-in (or something similar) instead of the mr. linky thingy i see on other blogger's posts ...something that will embed your post's link instead of just a re-direction. kasi kung re-directed your posts won't actually be linked from here, sis, and i want deep linking para naman fair kasi you also send me linky love. let's see. maybe i'll add commentluv. thanks so much for the feedback, sis!
...hehe, haba ng sagot ko! LOL.
