Bought these last weekend at the UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub in Diliman...first time I tried baklava. I've been hearing raves about this rich dessert that it really got me interested. It's mostly made up of nuts, honey, butter, and spices placed between sheets of phyllo dough. Six small portions (around 2in x 1in each) was about Php250 at Mister Kabab.
My verdict? After a couple or so of bites (yup, ate two portions almost all at once, lol) I wasn't really impressed. I was looking for something different...something that will make me go 'WOW'. But sadly, nada. Maybe I was expecting too much (this was my first time), or maybe I should have tried their pistachio-filled baklava; which was actually my first choice but since it wasn't available, I opted for the walnut. [By the way, I thought that baklava was supposed to be filled with pistachios, walnuts and almonds...with cinnamon.] I don't think I'll buy their baklava again. We still managed to eat the whole thing up, though. Didn't want it to go to waste! :D
So my search for another baklava starts again.... ;)

Sorry for the not so good experience...Turkish baklava is good but there are variations like that in Afghanistan may pistachio...saka minsan pagdating sa atin nagiiba na di ba, gaya ng okonomiyaki, merong iba timpla at lahok na nilalagay :(
I snickered when I read the name of this dessert. LOL. It's my first time hearing about baklava so pardon my reaction. Hehehe.
I'm also like you, even if I'm not happy with what I ordered or bought, I tend to continue finishing it 'cause I don't want to waste it. Hehehe.
Which baklava would you recommend so far? Though I don't usually like nuts mixed with anything, I love pistachios so I might enjoy baklava with it.
By the way, here's our Food Friday post:

The baklava I had were filled with pistachios. I liked them but I find them too sweet and cloying. A small diamond was more than enough.
